Romans 12:3-8
“For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.”
Elders
Living Word Church believes in and functions under the Biblical idea of pluralistic eldership. This form of church government includes elders who are elected by the congregation and function with equal authority.
Jason Stone
Lead Pastor
Jason was born in Amarillo, TX and was raised in a Christian home in the West Texas panhandle. He came to Christ at an early age, and cannot remember a time when he did not love Jesus. Jason recognizes that he is a sinner who has been saved by a great Savior and has given his life to be a living witness to Jesus Christ and his great salvation. Jason is married to Amy Stone, and they have five children.
Jordan Butler
Elder
Jordan was born in Fort Smith Arkansas, and has lived in East Texas since his family relocated there in 1995. He met his wife Hannah through work and school in their late high school years, and they married in 2004. Jordan loves running and cooking, as well as reading books that build and encourage his faith.
Kyle Carter
Elder
Kyle grew up in neighboring Whitehouse. He is married to Amy Carter and they have two kids, Owen and Audrey. Kyle works at a marketing firm to help fund his addiction to playing basketball and working on his never-improving golf game. Kyle is passionate about good community and spreading the good news of the gospel to people who have been living under the weight of religion and irreligion.
